Information about Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is a government initiative designed to target resources on those pupils deemed to be from a disadvantaged background. Specifically, the Pupil Premium money is provided for those pupils who have been on Free School Meals (FSM) at any point over the past 6 years or those children who have been looked after continuously for at least 6 months (CLA). There is also a smaller provision made for those pupils who have a parent in the armed services. Funding should be used to promote strategies, which narrow the attainment gap between those students who would be considered disadvantaged and their non-disadvantaged peers.
This statement details our school’s use of Pupil Premium funding to help improve the attainment of our students who would be considered disadvantaged.
It outlines our Pupil Premium strategy, how we intend to spend the funding in this academic year and the effect that last year’s spending of Pupil Premium had within our school.
Our Pupil Premium Leader is Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Salt, and he can be contacted by email: lsalt@congletonhigh.com, or via the main School Office telephone number: 01260 730123.
