At Congleton High School, we prepare our learners for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world. Knowledge and understanding of Computing and Enterprise is of increasing importance for children’s future, both at home and for employment.

Our curriculum provision is well-resourced, with all lessons taking place in fully-equipped IT suites. Computing and Enterprise courses are popular choices at Key Stage 4 and 5 and the Faculty has an excellent track record of success.

Our Computing and Enterprise curriculum progresses through three themes across each of the three Key Stage 3 years, with students progressing from Discoverers in Year 7 to Explorers in Year 8 and Leaders in Year 9. Our fully sequenced curriculum makes clear links across topics studied from Year 7 through to Year 13 in order to ensure that students become confident in safely using, as well as understanding, technology.

Our intention is that Computing and Enterprise also supports students’ creativity and cross-curricular learning to engage them and enrich their experiences in school. We offer a growing range of extracurricular support and enrichment activities to provide students with an opportunity to grow their confidence and understanding through and beyond the curriculum content.

You will find below an overview of our Computing and Enterprise curriculum and presentations highlighting the many careers opened up by studying our subjects.
