Name: Abby Wakefield

When at CHS: 2011-2019

Current Role: Training to become a Secondary School Drama Teacher

What are your memories of CHS?

I really enjoyed school a lot, I had a lot of an amazing friends and the teachers were incredible. I remember performing in the school musical, 'Bugsy Malone,' and it was so fun and I still remember a lot of the dances now! I had lots of teachers that inspired me, from my Drama Teacher, Mrs Davis, to my form tutor, Mrs Wise, and my head of year, Mr Franklin, among so many others!

I stayed on in Sixth Form for 3 years and studied Media Studies, English Language and Psychology A-Levels, Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 and Politics AS Level.

Route after CHS:

After leaving CHS, I went on to study Theatre at the University of Chichester. I had always wanted to perform but from being very young I'd always aspired to be a Drama Teacher. After I finished university and got my degree, I started to train to teach and I am currently in my training year as a secondary Drama Teacher. I am a third of the way through my training, so hopefully I will be a qualified secondary Drama Teacher in July and start a full-time teaching position in September.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
