A Half-Term to Be Proud Of
As we approach the end of this half-term, it’s incredible to reflect on just how quickly time has flown since Christmas. There is so much to be proud of across our school community, and it’s heartening to see how we continue to grow stronger together, united by our shared values and a deep understanding of the individual and collective impact we have on our school’s legacy.
Academic Excellence and Dedication
Our Year 11 and Year 13 scholars have been fully engaged in their practice exams, demonstrating remarkable focus and determination. As they prepare to embark on the next stage of their academic journey, their hard work, dedication and resilience have been truly inspiring. This success is a testament to the targeted support and guidance provided by our dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to ensure every student reaches their full potential. It has also been fantastic to welcome Year 9 scholars and families to our Options Evening where we enjoyed listening to their career aspirations and discussing the pathways open to them. This is a real milestone moment in education and we are excited to see where their choices take them!
Enrichment and Creativity
This half-term has once again been filled with impressive enrichment opportunities. Our partnership with the Congleton branch of Rotary has seen students excel in a range of competitions, from the Young Chef to Photography competitions, showcasing the incredible creativity and talent within our school. Our incredible artists put together a sensational exhibition following the Big Arts Day. I do hope you have kept up with our frequent social media updates where we celebrate the fantastic achievements of our school community.
Our Year 12 students had the fantastic opportunity to perform in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition, this was hours of hard work on their part and I applaud them for their second place in this challenging contest.
Congleton Rotary Club held their annual Rotary Young Chef competition in January. Six of our students participate in this heated contest and were judged by a top London chef who now is the proud owner of the Alexander Court Hotel, and home economics expert, Rosemary Knight. Our Year 8 student took the over all prize with a delicious three course meal.
Sporting Success and Personal Achievements
Our sports teams continue to dominate across a wide range of disciplines, competing fiercely in local leagues and cup competitions in rugby, football, basketball and netball just to name a few! Beyond team sports, we’ve celebrated outstanding individual achievements in tennis, horse riding, and martial arts amongst others. Our talented dancers, singers and performers have also taken to school and local stages, dazzling audiences with their skills and passion. It’s always a joy to see our students shine both in and out of the classroom.
A Million Reasons to Celebrate
A particularly proud moment this term has been reaching the incredible milestone of one million achievement points! This reflects the hard work, positive attitudes and commitment of our students, supported by the encouragement of staff and families. We are proud to be proud!
A Community Built on Love, Hope, and Care
As we come towards the end of this half-term, our focus remains on the values of courage, ambition and curiosity that bind us. We will be sharing messages of love, hope, and care throughout our school community. It is important for every member of CHS and our Sixth Form College to know they are loved and valued. Individually and collectively, our students, staff, and families continue to demonstrate beauty, not just in achievements, but in character - beautiful inside and out.
Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey.
