Year 7 (soon to be Year 8) students - If you fancy using your brain and your hands to design and build some creative machines, then this is the competition for you!
The Faraday Challenge is a fantastic national engineering competition, run by the Instituition of Engineering and Technology, where you'll compete with other schools (in teams of 6) to solve a real-world engineering problem. CHS students in previous years have had great fun taking part in the Challenge and have really benefitted from this great opportunity.
To test if YOU'RE up to the Challenge, over the summer break we'd like you to build a rubber band powered vehicle of your choice, it could be a car, boat, plane or whatever your imagination, design flair and construction skill deliver.
If yours is one of the chosen designs, then you'll be invited to take part in a four week engineering course to prepare you to represent our school in the national competition and be in with a chance of winning £1,000 for STEM activities at CHS AND personal prizes too!
If you are interested, then contact Mr Holmes or one of the Science Team via satchel:one and they will register you for the competition and keep you up-to-date with Challenge information.
Good Luck!
