Cooking Up Business Ideas

Year 11 Enterprise and Marketing students have almost completed their set assignment work based on Creating a Business Proposal for a new pizza idea. They have spent months researching the market, identifying customer profiles, conducting secondary research, analysing results, creating pizza ideas, drafting designs and then finally calculating potential sales and profit.

After all their hard work, it would have been a shame not to actually have a go at making their chosen pizza recipe. So, at the beginning of March, they were set loose in the Food Room, under the careful watch of our Food Technician, Mrs Horsley. The group only had a one-hour lesson to create their pizzas and clear up afterwards, so Food and Nutrition Teacher, Mrs Thorpe, and Mrs Horsley came up with an innovative recipe for a pizza base, which allowed them to get their creations assembled and cooked within the time. There were some excellent results, with a number of students actually discovering a definite talent for pizza making!
