In February, our Sixth Form English Language students attended an English Language conference at The Kings School, Macclesfield.

The Year 12 students joined other A Level English Language students from all over the North West to hear eminent linguists such as Rob Drummond, Ian Cushing and Jess Nortledge talk about their work in areas as diverse as Language Stigmatisation in Schools, Stylistics and World Theories in Dystopian Fiction, and the role of language in the construction and performance of identity.

This was a valuable opportunity for the students, giving them a good insight in to different aspects of English Language and Linguistics.
