On World Book Day we began every Year7-10 lesson with an 'engaging extract' from a novel chosen by the teacher. Year 7 enjoyed a book-themed Murder Mystery and break/lunch competitions in the LRC, all with book/housepoint prizes.

We also ran a House Competition, challenging form groups to decorate their form room door  on the theme of a book. We saw some fabulous examples from Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Animal Farm and The Hunger Games. The overall winning form group was 10CE with their fabulous Rapunzel inspired door. Year group winning forms were 7JPD, 8EFA, 9DCH, 10CE, 12NGO and 13KSM (see images below).

Students received their World Book Day vouchers, which they can swap for one of the World Book Day books in any participating retails by 23rd March.
