A group of our Year 11 and Year 12 PE students and staff enjoyed an amazing evening in March when we hosted a group of Footballers from Curro School, Cape Town, who were over here on a sports tour.
The two u17 South African teams played friendly 5v5 matches with our students and the atmosphere was lovely. After the matches, the CHS and Curro teams were able to spend time chatting and finding out more about life in Cape Town and Congleton over refreshments in our Sixth Form College cafeteria.
The Curro students came to CHS as part of a sports tour where they were playing a number of Football and Rugby fixtures. Following their visit to Congleton and Manchester, they moved on to Oxford, then London, before flying back to South Africa at the end of March.
We hope to be able to stay in touch with our new South African friends and maybe one day be able to enjoy more sports fixtures with them in Congleton or even Cape Town!
