At the end of her Year 12 studies, Maisie Kearney joined many of her CHS class mates to take up work placements in a variety of industries around the region.

We received wonderful feedback from the employers regarding our students' great attitude and enthusiasm and, of course, there is no greater accolade than from those businesses who are so impressed by our students that they offer them a job. This year, a number of our students were lucky enough to secure employment opportunities as a result of their placements and Maisie was one of these

Maisie takes up the story:

"After I had completed the work experience at the radio station, David Flavell, the Station Manager, offered me a part time promotional job, which I was over the moon with.

"Since then I have attended numerous events with Silk, like Macc Fest, Sandbach Christmas Light Switch On and, most recently, but by far my favourite, The 2018 Local Heroes Awards. This was held at Crewe Hall, where I was able to meet all the different nominees and listen to the extraordinary things they had achieved and also hand them their awards.

"I am so thankful to have this job at Silk and it wouldn't have been made possible without the work experience organised by the school."

Maisie continues her studies at CHS alongside her part-time Silk FM role.
