Our Y9 swimming superstar has continued his success in the pool this term. He represented Staffordshire in October at the National Inter County Team Championships, supporting them in achieving an overall fifth place.

Following selection for the Swim England National Talent Pathway for the Third year he attended a residential over half-term, focusing on nutrition, race psychology, strength and conditioning.

In November he attended the West Midlands Regional Short Course Championships at the Sandwell Aquatics Commonwealth pool. Racing in the Junior (15 and under) category, he secured three gold medals and one bronze medal.

Over the past few months his club has also taken part in the North West Arena league. This is a team points based event with a mix of individual and relay style races. After two nights of racing, Biddulph Amateur Swimming Club went into the finals ranked first. This Saturday they won, gaining promotion to the first division next year.

Oscar swam in 24 races over the three events in both the 15 and under and the open age category. He gained maximum points for the team in all but one event, when he came second in one of the relays.

Going into 2024 Oscar is now training for the Staffordshire County Championships in January/February where he has qualified for all 18 events.

2024 looks very promising for Oscar!
