Another Successful CHS Careers Fair

Students and staff welcomed guests from over forty organisations to speak with students from Year 7 to Year 13 at our 2024 Careers Fair in March. Students were able to learn about different business sectors, job roles and entry requirements for careers in a wide variety of sectors from banking, the armed forces, public services and media to construction, engineering, healthcare and hospitality.

Many students were already clear about their career path, apprenticeships and higher education, so were able to focus on the organisations best suited to their aspirations. Others were less clear about their pathways at 16+ and 18+, so appreciated the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of employers, trainers and educators.

We were delighted to be able to welcome back ,many former CHS students, who were able to inspire their younger counterparts. We welcomed Katie Nuttall - Director and Filmmaker with Majestical, Josh Williams - Apprentice Fitter and Welder with Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows, Ellie Forrester - Branch Manager at Stephenson Browne Estate Agents, Ryan Glover and Elliot Dolman - both Engineering Technicians with Alstom, Mel Ashun - Apprentice Quality Engineer with Bentley, Holly Maxwell - Apprentice Lead Care Worker at Ablewell Care and Chloe Johnson - Administration Officer at Alstom.

Students were given lost of support and advice before the event to help them to get the most from the opportunity. We were very proud to hear wonderful feedback from exhibitors regarding the maturity and intelligence of the questions posed by our students.
