Our 2024 GCSE Awards Evening in November was a wonderful way to celebrate our 2023-24 Year 11 cohort, with students and their families joining together with staff, governors and special guests to pay tribute to the year group.
In addition to presenting the year group with their hard-earned GCSE certificates, we also presented fifty-six students with curriculum Effort and Achievement awards (see below). Students had been selected not just for exceptional results, but also for their hard work and determination or for securing grades well above their predicted target.
We were delighted to be joined at the event by CHS alumnus, Phil Smith, who was our guest speaker for the evening. Phil, who is now a 787 Dreamliner Captain with British Airways, shared his route from CHS to his current role - an inspirational story of resilience and determination.
After Mr Smith had spoken, guests were able to learn which students had been selected to receive the special awards of the evening.
