Year 12 Biologists Capture Images of Plant Transport Systems

Our Year 12 Biologists have been studying plant transport systems and have looked at the structure of the xylem (which transports water and mineral ions) under the microscope.

They have captured some remarkable images of the lignin spirals that waterproof the xylem and provide support to prevent the vessels collapsing.
