Our MFL students learnt about the history of both Ronda and Málaga during their trip to Spain in March. They enjoyed culture, language, food and, of course, the 20 degree sun!
Over the four days, the students visited Colegio Maravíllas in Benalmádena for a Spanish lesson and enjoyed a three and a half hour guided walk learning about the history of the mountain town of Ronda - the bullfighting culture and the two bridges (old and newer) that separate the old and modern parts of the town. They were able to take a well earned rest at the drinking fountain at the Ocho Ceñas
On their Málaga day-trip they appreciated the cool and quiet interior of the Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga. After this, they toured the town and saw where artist, Pablo Picasso, grew up, where actor, Antonio Banderas, lives when he represents Hollywood for the Málaga film festival (on this week) and bought some traditional turrón (nougat). They were able to spend some time at the beach before they went off to enjoy some free time in Málaga.
On their final morning, the students even got the chance to make (and eat) their own chicken paella at Colegio Maravillas.
It was a very positive experience for our MFL scholars and we heard lots of positive feedback from parents and carers. A big thank you to Miss Adamsons for organising an amazing trip, and to Mrs Currah-Hall and Mr O'Brien for taking time to offer an amazing experience for all students.
