Year 7 students, Charlie H and Theo P, celebrated winning the league cup trophy in May with their Macclesfield FC Junior Academy team, in a final that was held at the Manchester United Youth Academy.
After going 1-0 down, Macclesfield came back to win the cup 2-1!
Charlie's dad shared his review of the match:
"Charlie played the match in central midfield, doing a fantastic job in breaking up opposition attacks and shielding the defence in what was a physical and battling match in the midfield. Theo played on both wings, showing brilliant skill to carry the ball up the pitch and put the opposition defence under pressure. This included for the winning goal, where Theo’s pressure on the defender caused the opposition’s player to score an own goal from a cross that Theo would have otherwise scored from."
