To round off Pride Month at CHS, on the last day of June our LGBTQ+ Ambassadors ran a Pride Stall fundraiser on behalf of akt (the Albert Kennedy Trust). Students and staff were able to buy cakes and a range of Pride merchandise and also have their face painted. The group raised almost £300 to support the charity, which supports LGBTQ+ young people facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.

If you're curious about the meaning behind the many different flags on the stall, take a look at this guide here for a brief explanation and history.

The Ambassadors also produced two Pride Month presentations for form tutors to share with their students during form time. The first offered related history, information and support and the second highlighted the tragic story of Brianna Ghey, a 16 year old Cheshire transgender schoolgirl who was stabbed to death earlier this year.

We have contact details for a range of organisations who are able to offer advice and support for students with LGBTQ+ and other issues in the 'Someone Who Can Help' section in the Student Welfare page of this website. Click here to be redirected.
